Starting solids sounds easy. But there’s always something. Hover over a card – we’ll show you what’s behind it and what helps.

Now what?

Then that’s it.

We’ve already got mealtimes covered. Now we’re taking care of what comes after: the little rocket fits in any bag and is ready for lift-off when nature suddenly calls in a traffic jam, at the playground or up a mountain. Lid on, nothing leaks – then rinse with warm water.

Size? Doesn’t matter.
Hardly anyone gives tableware as a birth gift. Yet it’s the one gift that’s guaranteed to be used: the mealtime milestone is sure to come. Our sets arrive ready to give in the maamii box.

You could do it faster. But then it wouldn’t be theirs.
We believe kids can do more when we give them room. Children who get to eat by themselves early on pick up table manners along the way and build confidence in themselves.

Two mums. One labour of love.
We’re Jessica and Marlyn – two mums with four young children. maamii was born in the middle of family life: from products we looked for and couldn’t find. So we started choosing them ourselves and helping to design them – beautiful enough for the family table, sturdy enough for little hands.
What families say
From what age does baby tableware make sense?
Our tableware is suitable from 4 months. When to start solids with your child is best discussed with your paediatrician or your local parent advice service. As soon as your child wants to join in at mealtimes, their own tableware helps them eat independently.
Is silicone tableware safe for babies?
Our tableware is made from 100 % food-grade silicone, is free from BPA, lead and phthalates, and is CE, FDA and SGS tested. It is made in an ISO-9001 and BSCI certified factory.
Which tableware is suitable for baby-led weaning?
What works well: bowls and plates with suction cups that don’t slide away, plates with compartments so foods stay separate, and cutlery that little hands can grip easily.
How do I get odours out of silicone tableware?
Silicone can take on odours from strongly spiced food. First, pop it in the dishwasher. If the smell lingers, unscented cleaning tablets help.
Can silicone tableware go in the dishwasher and freezer?
Yes. All silicone products are dishwasher- and freezer-safe – ideal for making purée in advance. Products made of wood and bamboo are the exception.
What’s a newborn gift that won’t be outgrown?
Baby tableware: it has no size and no season, and it will be needed once solids start, if not before. Our gift sets come ready-wrapped.
Why does my child keep throwing their plate on the floor?
Children are exploring cause and effect – a perfectly normal developmental step. You don’t have to put up with it, though: suction plates and non-slip placemats hold their ground.
What makes the Magic Bowl special?
It changes colour as soon as the food is warmer than 40 °C. So you can see at a glance whether the purée is still too hot.
